Brevard County Transportation Impact Fee Moratorium is Sunsetting

The Brevard County Building Department has issued an update regarding the sunsetting of current transportation impact fee moratorium:

On, September 6, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners voted to not extend the Transportation Impact Fee Moratorium. Therefore, the Transportation Impact Fee Moratorium sunset on December 31, 2016. The following criteria must be met to be eligible for an impact fee exemption under the moratorium:

  1. The Building permit must be issued by December 31, 2016.
  2. A Certificate of Occupancy must be issued by December 31, 2017.
  3. For Commercial Development 20,000 square feet and over, a Certificate of Occupancy must be issued by December 31, 2018.

Projects that require site plan approval will need the site plan approved before a building permit can be issued.  The County offers a concurrent review process wherein the building permit application can be reviewed concurrently with the site plan review.  Please find the concurrent review request form at: Concurrent Code Review Request.pdf
